rizzler automates your dating apps, which means we handle sensitive personal data — including messages, matches, and in some cases the credentials to your dating-app accounts. this page explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the controls you have.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to Rizzler ("Rizzler," "we," "us," "our") and to the rizzler.io website, our waitlist, and any applications, features, and services we make available (collectively, the "Service"). It does not apply to third-party services, including the dating platforms you may connect to Rizzler — those services have their own privacy policies, and you should read them.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy and to our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Waitlist data: your email address, the referral code of whoever invited you (if any), and a referral code we assign to you so you can invite others.
- Account data (once available): account credentials, preferences about who you'd like to meet, content you configure the Service to send on your behalf, and any support messages you send us.
- Connected-platform credentials and tokens: when you link a third-party dating app, you provide us with the credentials, OAuth tokens, or other access material required for the Service to act on your behalf. These are stored in encrypted form and used only to operate the Service.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and request data: IP address, user agent, approximate location derived from your IP, referring URL, and timestamps, captured when you visit the Service.
- Cookies we set: a small set of first-party cookies used to assign and remember your A/B experiment variant (for example,
rizzler_variant) and to keep you signed in. These cookies expire within 180 days and do not track you across other sites. - Product analytics: we use PostHog to understand how the Service is used (for example, landing-page impressions, waitlist signups, and referral-link clicks). PostHog may set its own cookies or identifiers on your device.
Information from third parties
- Connected dating platforms: once you link an account, we access and process profile information, photos, matches, conversations, and other data made available through that platform in order to provide the Service.
- Email delivery provider: when we send you email, our provider (Resend) logs delivery, open, and click metadata tied to the relevant message.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service;
- act on your behalf within any dating platforms you connect — for example, to swipe, match, message, and coordinate dates according to your preferences;
- send transactional and service emails (waitlist confirmations, early-access notices, product updates, and security alerts);
- run our referral program, including attributing invites and tracking referral-based rewards;
- measure, debug, and improve the Service, including running A/B experiments on landing-page copy;
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your messages or connected-account data to train public or third-party AI models.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on one or more of the following legal bases: (a) performance of a contract with you; (b) your consent, which you may withdraw at any time; (c) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service, provided they are not overridden by your rights; and (d) compliance with a legal obligation.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as we need it to provide the Service and for the additional purposes described in this Policy. Retention periods depend on the type of data:
- waitlist records are kept while the waitlist is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to support launch and referral attribution;
- connected-account credentials and tokens are kept only while the account is linked, and are deleted shortly after you disconnect it;
- message and match history may be kept for the period needed to support the Service and is deleted or anonymized on request or on account closure;
- logs, analytics, and backups are kept for shorter, rolling retention windows appropriate to their purpose.
We may keep limited information longer if required by law or to resolve disputes.
7. Your choices and rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share; to request deletion; to request correction; and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration — including encryption in transit, encryption of sensitive stored secrets, access controls, and routine review of our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of every piece of information. If we experience a breach that legally requires notification, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required.
9. International data transfers
Rizzler operates from the United States, and our service providers may process personal data in the United States and other countries. These locations may not provide the same level of data protection as the jurisdiction where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — for international transfers.
10. Children
The Service is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect or use personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact hey@rizzler.io and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Third-party services
The Service contains links to, and integrates with, third-party services — most notably the dating platforms you connect. This Policy does not cover the data practices of those services. Review their privacy policies and terms to understand how they handle your information.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify you through the Service or by email before they take effect. The "effective" date at the top tells you when this version was published.
